While visiting Clearwater, FL, I was taking a few sunset pictures and in the distance I saw a sailboat coming toward the sunset. I waited for the right moment...then snapped! I think the timing was pretty good....
Yes, excellent timing! I love the way the sun reflection in the water backlights the sails. You need to frame that and decorate your home!
Thank you ELNikkor, that is what I plan to do...
Outstanding picture, perfect timing.
Beautiful, but having the boat a little off center would probably be more aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
I love sailboats! I have a short story on Amazon Kindle called: "Sailing to Block Island" a true short story for 99 cents.
I agree a very nice shot with the sun and perfect shadow, great job.

For my sins, I lived on a yacht for 5 years (1986-1991). Lived on a Tradewind 33 based in Larnaca Marina on the Greek side of the Island of Cyprus. It was a tough time but, as they say, somebody has to do it!
I would love to see the full size. Could you post again with downloadable link?
Beautiful capture, great timing and composition.
I agree that your timing getting the sailboat directly under the setting sun was spot on. But my personal preference would have been, since you saw the scene developing before it actually presented itself, I might have preferred to see the boat more to the right (Rule of Thirds) moving into the scene rather than bullseyed in the center. IMHO, my eyes go directly to the boat, the sun, the reflection, but not to any other part of the image. Putting the boat at a "Golden Mean" position might have made a more dynamic image.
