5 shot bracket combined in LR. Single image sent to Aurora HDR....about as close to 'grunge' as I get.....but I do like the texture....😎

Good example of the advantages obtainable with pseudo HDR. Great picture.

Actually it is a real HDR as it's a 5 shot bracket. I just did not combine them in Aurora, but in LR......

So - does that mean that #1 is the LR combined result - and that you sent that to Aurora - result being #2? I must be getting a bit slow!

No, just the middle exposure of the 5 shot bracket unedited.... Bit confusing I know.

A little over cooked for my taste. I'm sure when you look back 5 years from now you will probably think the same. The first image would be perfect with a little more Saturation, Contrast, sharpening, and maybe a touch of De-haze.

Just a bit of experimentation with Aurora my friend. It is 'definitely' overcooked, but that's the point of the exercise.

As you may see from my posts here, I prefer a bit of "overcooking". To me the more "natural", non HDR example is a Ho Hum snapshot, while the HDR version is a Wow, eye-catching, rendition of a place as we see it in our imagination --- worth a print and frame.

I think HDR is a great tool and most of the time a little is all something needs to add additional interest to a flat picture. Most of the time I don't like over the top HDR work but in this instance over the top is exactly what it needed. It needs to shout out because of the act of graffiti and the final results of the painting. This is so well done, congratulations.

Quite overcooked. Here is a quick attempt to tame it down a bit. More could be done with the view through to the other side.

I usually prefer HDR for just fixing dynamic range issues, however this is one image that screams to be processed as an overcooked HDR and I like it a lot. (the original HDR image)

Pity it didn't work! For me it's not about "the other side"

This particular image lends itself to being overcooked which was entirely the point of the exercise, eh? Toning it down isn't the goal or shouldn't be from my perspective, but everyone has their own thoughts about this type of processing. If you look at the majority of my previous posts, I wouldn't have dared to create this type of processed image from my nature/landscape images.....

OK, I accept your HDR results.

Don't give in so easily...if you don't like it...it's OK...😎. I honestly really don't like most grunge type images, but I admit now that they can be interesting under the right conditions....

One of the most interesting things to do is to plunge into venues that you aren't familiar with. Sometimes results work, sometimes they don't, but the adventure of trying new things is tops on my list!
