Just got back from a 2 week vaca and I now have 4 batteries that show in the charger as fully charged but when they go in the camera, 2 show as ready to die and the other 2 just show an empty square. The batteries in question are for a Canon 50D and rated at 2,000 mah. Has anyone else run into this dilemma? and better yet, figured out a way to revive them?
Out of all the batteries I have, different manufacturers, ratings etc. these 4 are all from the same "brand less" manufacturer and same 2,000 mah rating. Yes, I know I am going to have to replace them but I have several that are older with a power rating less than 2,000 and still going like the Energizer bunny, so I'll be on the look out for this "brand less" version when I pull the trigger.
It's kind of a crap shoot when you are dealing with aftermarket batteries of any origin. Although I haven't specifically purchased aftermarket batteries, I have received them through various promotions. I had 2 Phottix that after a year didn't hold a charge after 24 hours, while some "brand less" are going strong. I hold these as last resort batteries.
So far, I have only purchased Canon branded batteries and have never had ANY problems with them. When I am on a shoot, cannot afford batteries that are not performing. Having said that, I do entertain the idea of Wasabi or Watson batteries, based on the feedback from others at B&H and Adorama.
I would just recycle the bad batteries and move on, replacing them with ones you have found to be trustworthy.
Please edit this topic to specify Canon-related help. Thanks.

Normally I agree with that request. But for this topic, brand specific doesn't really apply because battery problems are universal, whether Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc., when talking your brand versus aftermarket battery.

Had the same experience. Batteries showed full charge in canon charger but were exhausted. Put them in a different aftermarket charger and they came right up
bud.

Thanks Bud, I have 5 chargers so I'll give that a try.
