Walking down the railroad tracks...
Sorry about the slow focus on my old Sony camera. Just missed the Locos. Please comment on any of my shots...
I kinda like the second one... If you can get back there, stoop a little and get the shore behind the tree between where the empty spot is...
I like these kind of shots myself. I am always trying to get some kind of natural framing in my shots. I like them that way. This is one I would have tried.
Thank you for your comment. Yes it does look like a blank space. There is so much haze around the water, I should have payed more attention..

For the first 2 pixs, what were you trying to show? The foliage or the views in the distance? For the third shot, the time of day gives poor lighting and harsh contrast which are quite difficult for the camera to cope with. It needs post processing work to improve the picture. Please keep trying.
I was walking my dog alongside of the tracks when AmTrak came by and I was concerned about getting my dog out of the way. No time to think about the picture but did try for the Locos and missed. Bad picture.
The other two were practice shots, trying to learn how to frame..Thank you for your comments...

To use a natural frame like foliage, you need to change your position to get the foliage to frame the view without it dominating the picture. Make sure you focus and expose for the view beyond the foliage. If the scene is too far away and not prominant enough, you may need to move back and use a longer lens. Make sure the foliage doesn't cover up important parts of the scene beyond. The purpose of the 'frame' is to concentrate your view pass the frame into the main subject matter. If the frame is not in silhouette but has details, then it shouldn't take your attention looking at it for too long. Your attention must go past the frame to the main subject. A frame also gives the picture a sense of depth(#1 & #2). Foliage can also be used to fill up a bland sky to balance the picture (#3). I hope you don't mind me attaching a few shots to illustrate the points I've mentioned.
Didn't have a clearer picture handy. Look at the image & not the jigsaw pieces.
The trees on both sides form a tunnel for you to go through
