I certainly hope there also will be eye injuries as many folks do not understand how critical it is to be safe.

Oh, God, I hope not - but unfortunately, you're probably right. And there will be a lucky few who will experience minor damage or temporary (1 - 10 minutes) loss of most vision, who will thereafter swear that staring at the sun does no harm; they will never do it again, but there inane comments will tempt others to make the same mistake.
