To answer your questions about the crowd, this was about three minutes before the first wave of swimmers were to launch for the Fort DeSoto Triathlon ... they were all looking toward the starting gate ... that poor woman had probably been there two to three hours already and it was only 8AM. Here is one taken a lot closer to the starting gate (those two flags you see on the right side of the pic).
