Sorry I can't find the original but I do know this was just one shot processed in Photomatix... lots of detail; worthwhile to download. Don't really know what the PP done past mapping as I like to wing it with no scripts. Enjoy...bob

I used to use Photomatix, but felt that the "overcooked" look was just too unnatural. Learn about editing in layers and blending.

Yep, so right RG... layers, masking and blending are being pursued as we speak. The crack in the door keeps getting wider... keeps an old guys brain working a little . BTW, I do like to overcook a little... maybe a bad habit.

What f-stop did you use to get that pretty good depth of field.

Nothing wrong with overcooking if you are going to blend layers to get a harmonious final result.

Actually the results in Photomatix do not have to look overcooked if one takes the time to make the proper adjustments to the selected preset.

Actually the EXIF data says F 5.0 which even surprised me... 31mm at ISO 400 on my antique Sony Bridge with its Glorious Zeiss lens. Thanks for looking.

Took the HDR and this is what I came up with with no HDR.
