Here are my first macro photos; taken this weekend. As always, can you please give me your C&C. All the photos were taken in my winter garden. No insects, as I'll need to wait until summer for that.

Nice pix. You do have the eye for minor details. Work on your DOF, and soon enough you'll have macro mastered. 8-)

Image #1 = ISO 250, 1/160-sec at f/2.8, available (indirect) light.

To increase your DoF, try ISO 400, 1/100-sec, Aperture variable. If you feel steady enough, try 1/50-sec or 1/60-sec.

Shaka...there's a whole boat-load of folks here that will help you. Nikonian72 is pretty good. (Sorry Doug, Even a master has to be picked on every now and then...) If you desire/want/need to learn, you came to the right place. You shall learn. I believe that it is a by-law that the curators/higher carbon based units wrote into the fine print when all of us signed up for this excursion in our photographic lives that anyone will learn.A person cannot help themselves. I have an 82 yr. old neighbor....she's learning.Ask questions. Someone knows the answer to whatever the subject/topic your asking about. Good luck to you. 8-)

Thank you for your advice - I've got lots to learn and you can be sure that I'll work at my DoF. I hope to post additional photos this coming weekend.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I certainly desire/want/need to learn. Everyone on this forum has been absolutely fantastic and forthcoming. As the questions arise I'll ask them, in the knowledge that I'll get sound advice.
