is more interesting than the capture ... I met these two gentlemen at the Mid-Atlantic WWII Weekend in 2011. (See more at this link: https://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html) Their uniforms were probably the most authentic there that weekend. Here is why. They were interested in getting the SS dress uniform. Not an easy task. They ended up having to go to Germany! The jacket wasn't much of a problem. They were custom made by a German firm who still had the original patterns. The buttons were found stored away at the same firm. Their hats and boots were made from patterns from the original companies that made them for the German Army. Interesting as all get out talking to them. There is more but I forgot, over time, most of it ... anyway, enjoy the pic.

Good photography, but how can it be called Street Photography. Just for starters it is posed/staged, but the subject is the people and not their relationship to surroundings.

Shame about the Swastika! I thought it was banned in Germany.

Touchy subject. I can appreciate the photographic effort. I thought SS uniforms were black. Or was that just Gestapo?

From what I remember talking to the two guys, they were dress uniforms. All this was slightly ahead of my time. This whole weekend is a fly in of planes and reenactors of the World War II era. Most strive for perfection or as close as they can get (in the case of the restoration of a half track everything was restored as it was except for the machine gun and the tracks ... they used rubber coated tracks so they could drive it around without tearing up the paved surfaces they drove on.)

I believe that for thousands of years the swastika was an emblem of peace, until Hitler hijacked it and then it became associated with nazism. It has become one of those Newspeak concepts like calling getting your retaliation in first, defense.
