Have any of you heard of nextdoor.com? I got mail from the organization, followed by the name of a local road. The idea is that people post info about what's going on, lost pets, local crime, etc. I have a week to sign up with the code they gave me.

Do it. At our age we could wander off and get lost in the driveway.

It wouldn't be the first time.

What we really need is an app that would tell you why you walked into any room in your house.

My area has the next-door web site, I use it to sell stuff. Most of the people in our area think it is another twitter or their personal blog and clutter it up with "who cares" type of messages. You can sell a lot of stuff on it and also find some really good stuff for the under-stuffed. Oh no, where did I park my car??

Jerry, I've been a member of nextdoor.com for about a year now and find it very useful. It keeps you up to date on what is going on in your neighborhood. In the past year there has been 3 burglaries/home invasions in our neighborhood and I knew about them the next morning. The website members publish photos and descriptions of cars in the area that look suspicious and report any suspicious activity they see. Neighbors also share flowers and scrubs and lots of other items they no longer want or need. It's a good source of local information that comes as a periodic newsletter if you sign up for it. You can cancel any aspect of the website you don't like and they won't bother you again. I have found it to be very helpful. Try it. You can always cancel after a week or so if you don't like what you see.
