"Clic" reading cheaters

I don’t know how many of you use cheaters for looking at the camera controls, and not for looking at the scenery, but I do.

These glasses eliminate the problem of having no pocket for your cheaters; nothing dangling from a lanyard; and they work well when you lift sunglasses to the top of your head to use the cheaters. These are very convenient, at least for me. At first I thought storing them may be a bit of a problem, but then I figured I’ll just keep them around my neck during the entire outing.

I remember them from one of the CSI shows - used by the medical examiner. I could never see the advantage of clicking them together. I sometimes have a retainer of some kind on mine so I can hang them around my neck, as you do, "...keep them around my neck during the entire outing."

They are a snug fit. Not tight, but little room for movement. Popping them apart lets you get them over your nose easier.

Slang for reading glasses. Inexpensive diopter lenses to read/see things up close, usually purchased at the drug store. I have no idea how the nick-name originated. Maybe because one is "cheating" by not using/getting prescription glasses? Anyone know?
