That's because the majority of them are stupid. Why would they vote against themselves? They don't have a historic low approval rate from nothing. They are so out of touch with what's good for the country - their re-election, ideology, and lining their own pockets are more important than the rest of us, and even the Constitution. The rest of the world is not laughing at us for nothing.

Couldn't have said it better myself; and remember that it is the American people a s group that are directly responsible for this. Only the few of us that know this fact are also sick because the rest of the country would rather sit on their fat a*s, pad their pockets or drink beer and watch football then do their civic duty and get involved in their government as a democracy requires them to do.

We have traveled quite a lot in Europe and the vast major of other travelers - American and foreign - are smart, considerate people. The exceptions stand out but I think some of the comments are a bit over the top.

THESE ARE REAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK HOLIDAYS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS

1. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”

2. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax.”

3. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”

4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price.”

5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room.”

6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow.”

7. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallartato close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time — this should be banned.”

8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared.”

9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”

10. “I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”

11. “The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun.”

12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”

13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”

14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’re trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service.”

15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners.”

16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning.”

17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel.”

18. “I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes.”

19. “My fiancee and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”

BE AWARE …

THEY WALK AMONG US and THEY VOTE!

Sounds like a job for the nanny state to fix. And they will vote for the government to do just that.

We get what we deserve by not voting out the bad apples, the ideologues, the money-grubbers, the ones who apparently are not able to think, but only go by their knee-jerk reactions. Serious lack of empathy is a sign of a psychopath. Most psychopaths aren't the ones in the movies, but walk around with us. You pass them everyday. Why so many of them are not called out on this is bewildering to me. We are allowing our own destruction.

I can think of two reasons why it is. First, those in power are the worst ones and they protect their own kind. Second, about 14 years ago they stopped teaching history in schools (for all the testing for Bush's bullsh*t, No child left behind plan"; which guaranteed every child that the parent was not paying attention to what was going on, was guaranteed to be left behind), and the little they did teach was a lie. If you recall, the biggest lesson we were taught about history was that he who ignores history is doomed to repeat it; well we are living it now. I saw this when my son was in fifth grade. I pulled him from school and home schooled him. He went to a so called Christian high school for his last three years (secretly run by the Mason's) and I helped out, including subbing. Of course, this school had lies in their history books; look at the source. A friend of mine and I have been studying this for decades and knew as soon as we saw them stopping the history what would happen and the timing for it is of course, perfect. This has been a well laid out plan for longer than we have been alive. I made sure I filled in the gaps and corrected the lies laid on my son; so he will be one those in the know into the next era after I pass.

Our current Congress is a good example of "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." They feel no constraints and have no empathy for the rest of us. Their own agenda is paramount. Our education system is in trouble. Finland has the most advanced education system in the world. Why aren't they looking to the other countries that have more success than we do for ideas on how to improve it? Parents need to be aware of what their children are learning and to have a more hands-on involvement. So many parents let the schools do it all, like sophisticated baby sitters. And national or state politics should have no hand in controlling our schools. Only people with direct teaching experience should be allowed to do that. Politicians don't have the mental wherewithal to be able to make conclusions on this.

Secretly run by Masons, eh? I suppose it's so secret that you can't tell us which school this is or how to get in one without being a Mason - am I correct?

The school has gone out of business and no, there was no requirement to be a mason to go to it. It was done secretly, which I uncovered in my son's senior year. This kind of stuff goes on for the reasons we both know. Don't forget one of the most famous sayings from our fore fathers "He who is not willing to fight for his freedom doe not deserve it". This is not only true in a military world but also domestically at home. And Americans have failed to do their responsibility and take on their part of ruling and such, corruption has crept in from every angle and until America wakes up it will only get worse and worse. The country has already been taken over by the New World Order and has done so decades ago; thus why the Constitution is constantly violated. They just haven't announced it on the six o'clock news and they have no intention of doing so and no one will accept it until they do. Just shows the ignorant level of Americans. They don't call our so called reality the matrix for nothing.

[quote=salmander]Oh, the human race is so going down.

Why all those foreigners in other countries don't move somewhere else, I don't know.
And why don't they all speak English anyway?
All beds that aren't twin beds should be banned. No wonder there are so many people!
Of course, some beaches have better sand than others. It's because some oceans have better water than others.
It's a shorter flight to the USA from Jamaica, than it is to England, because we won the war. Where's your brain? Sheesh

Some people lost their brains some time ago when they gave up all of their thinking to the government. They somehow think the government should be in total control of their lives and they just punch the easy button and whatever happens, happens. Then they go on vacation and reality hits them in the face and they cannot handle it. Look for someone else to blame--it is your fault that I became pregnant. You see the lost all will to do anything one their own. I know this is meant to be humorous but it also a reflection of who we or what we have become. Reality does have a way of eventually catching up to us all.

So you go into politics determined that you are going to make a difference and you are going to change the system from within (ha). After you have been there a little while, someone comes up to you and says “The summer recess is coming up, how would you like to join a three week, all expenses paid fact finding mission to investigate the underlying causes of this new problem that has blown up in the Far East? It is because us ten guys from the gated mansion community have a certain way of looking at things that we would really appreciate someone on the team with a fresh approach. Your perspective would be vital. Nobody is asking you to compromise anything. Anything you want to go into the final report (which, by the way, nobody is going to read) will be in. It could affect the way the executive branch views the problem. Now what do you say?” What would you say? And that is one of the ways it is done.

So far as history goes, I didn't know it was no longer taught in US Schools, that is new information for me. It is said that the winners of wars get to write the history but since the US objective now seems to be infinite stalemates (it sells more guns that way), I can see why history has been dropped from the curriculum. Correct me if I am wrong but I think Grenada was the last conflict America won hands down. Yes I know Bush jr. stood on the big ship and said “We have prevailed” but from that moment on, it became an occupation which is still going on. The difference is technical.

As an example of how deceptions in history are propagated, have a look at the recent UHH thread on polio. A fellow contributor, who I believe is entirely sincere, wrote a “Let's all hear it for Jonas Salk” type post. After four pages of talking him up, I had to put in a reality check and that appears to have stopped the thread in its tracks. It doesn't give me any pleasure to do this, I really wish it wasn't so.

Those were funny and sad at the same time. Realize that half of the people are of below average intelligence. Not only do they vote, but most of them drive, and I suspect not very well. If we got all of the bad drivers off the road, there would never be any traffic.
