The 0.6X Wide Angle

I used the Scout with the 0.6X Wide Angle screwed into the Double Glass Optic on the D750. If you're not familiar with the Lensbaby Scout, Sandy, it's a fixed optic holder, doesn't bend like the Composer Pro. The focus stays centered. Lensbaby doesn't make them anymore like many of their older optics, but they can be found on eBay, often with a fisheye optic. I use mine a lot with all of the different optics.

Regarding the first two pictures: The second one I posted yesterday which was taken last August. I reposted it today to contrast it's effects with the 0.6X Wide Angle in the first picture. The two optics aren't exactly comparable because the 0.42X optic goes directly into the Scout or Composer Pro while the 0.6X screws into other optics like one would screw a filter onto a lens. So, how much effect is from the Double Glass, I don't know. I'll have to test it by switching the optics with it.

The rest of the pictures were all taken with the Scout/DoubleGlass/0.6X Wide Angle combination.

Taken with LB Scout/DoubleGlass with f4 disk and 0.6X Wide Angle. With the shrubbery on this side of the fence removed, it's not as pretty.

Great shots, Cathy. Obviously you get more effect with the .42x, and I like it. It's very artsy! I love the cherries with the little pops of color in the background.
Thanks for the demo. It's very helpful to see all of the options available to us.

Sis, love the photos and your detailed explanation of the lenses. I am so glad we have this section so I can learn and invest my savings in a lens that I will like.

I agree, Jane. I've wondered if those cherries are edible, but am not about to test the idea. lol! Thank you for the wonderful comment!

Great set, Cathy and you are so good at demonstrating the differences!! I'm drawn to the third shot with the white vignette, but I enjoyed them all!!
Did you get the 1.6x tele-photo lens with the 0.6x Wide Angle?? I tried using my wide angle the other day with the 8mm macro converter... totally different look! Too many options, too little time and too hard to remember what was used on what!!! LOL... it's always a surprise!!

So true, Angela! The number of combinations of lenses/optics/filters/apertures/etc. is huge! I did get the telephoto with the 0.6X, but haven't ever tried it - just haven't gotten to it.

I got to thinking about how to do a better comparison between the 0.42X and the 0.6X, and realized it could never be a direct comparison. For one thing, the 0.42X is an optic with no way to change aperture, fitting directly into a Composer Pro, a Muse or a Scout. It is what it is. But as you know, the 0.6X screws onto an optic such as a double glass, single glass, soft focus, etc., like a filter, and that optic's aperture can be changed with the discs. In other words, the two are just different. So, I don't see the point in doing anymore comparisons between the two. At least we have an idea what it's like with the 0.6X screwed into the double glass optic with the f4 aperture disc. lol!

Thank you for your nice comment and thumb! That house with the white vignette actually is one of my favorites.

If you have the macro converters... try the wide angle with the 8mm converter, totally different look and you can get up close!
Just too many combinations and then my head starts spinning!!!
