I played around with some of my snowy egret images, and since the background was already pretty dark, I just made it black to see if I could create a bit of a dramatic effect. I hope you like them. I'd like your opinions, yes or no. Thanks

A bit of a spat.

I would say that was worth playing around with. You held every bit of detail on those very white birds. If you were going for dramatic effect, you sure got it. Beautiful images. I also shoot birds with the old, reliable 400, /5.6 L. Great lens, but the skill is behind the camera. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic images, Mike, they are such beautiful and graceful birds... love them against the dark background!!
I enjoyed them all, but love the dance between the two on the last shot, even if it's really a spat!!

Thank you Angela. Your responses are always so complimentary and all-inclusive. Thank you for taking the time to look and comment. I always appreciate hearing from you, and I hope you are enjoying this 4th of July holiday. Like most of the others, I too like the last shot one the most.

Very dramatic Mike and excellent captures. Especially enjoyed #3, spat or dancing makes a wonderful picture.

Thanks Sylvia, for your very nice compliments. I surly do appreciate your thoughtful remarks.

I remember #3 being pure luck. I was actually trying to shoot the upper bird, when the lower one seemingly appeared out of nowhere. It was trying to drive the upper bird away from it's branch. When I saw the image on my camera's viewing screen, I was pretty excited about it.
