This lens has many looks. I have more difficulty with the soft side as I prefer at least a portion to look sharper. There are times I do not want to lose the center of a flower or an edge closest to me. I find it does a great job with the sharper look. Just my thoughts.

Probably will crop this more. Stem to stiff for my liking

Beautiful work, Sandy, and I agree with you. I like to have at least some part of the image in focus..somewhere to 'anchor' the eye even if it's just the edge of a petal.

Like the way you phrased that, "anchor the eye". It does just that. Glad you enjoyed. I have got to close this machine down, do a few dishes and hit the sack. Blessings.

Beautiful and dreamy set, Sandy, I enjoyed them all, especially the first the first two.... just love those bonus drops!!
If this is the Velvet 56, I don't have one yet and I'm dying to try it out, but I have to wait for Santa and hope he grants my wish!!
I've watched many videos on this lens and it does create many different effects, as you have proven!!
Wonderful work!!

Gorgeous display of the versatility of the Velvet 56. I love that you still get the dreamy effect, even with something in focus. These shots are so beautiful, and I especially love the second one with the awesome lighting and water droplets. Thanks for sharing your talents, Sandy!

These are all beautiful, Sandy, the second and third ones being my favorites. The range of pictures here sure shows many sides to the Velvet 56, from total softness to a lot of the frame being in focus.

Thank you Greg. Yes, the Velvet. I have used it with an extension before. You have to watch the light with this lens. To me it seems to be on the darker side or require more light.

I appreciate your comments so much. Part of the awesome lighting is result of my awesome presets. I am too old to spend even more time inside on computer working on photos. Rather be out shooting! The presets are a blessing and I consider them my "Darkroom". S

It does well in many situations. I have yet to try it for portrait type of photos. Have it in mind to do so. Thank you CathyAnn!
