iPad Air : no video sounds

The only sounds I get on this tablet are associated with emails and a few other sound selections as shown in the "Sounds" setting section. I have found no place that permits voice/music, to go along with YouTube and other on line video programs. I have looked up and down the entire list of settings to no avail. I would appreciate very much if someone would clue me in on how to get sounds to accompany video programs.
By the way, I did a complete reset and that did not work.

I'm not an Apple user (and I can see why and glad now), but I found this via Google

Even Windows Sound Cards and Players can be fickle. In the old days Apples simply worked, not always since Jobs died.

Tried all three solutions to no avail. I just tried Pandora music. No sound there either.
