Wonderful shot. I've never seen one before. He's a real beauty and the water movement and reflection add a lot of additional interest to the photo.

I'd never heard of a Poachard before so I googled it. Lots of pics, none of them even close to your quality. A must see in the download. Super how you captured the tiny water drops clinging to him after a dive. (I did find out they are a diving duck.) Also the swirling lights in the water compliment and set him off.
Thank you for sharing this. Did you use any kind of photo blind? You had to be fairly close to get the detail you achieved.

After looking it up, no wonder I never came across them before. They are normally only found in southern Europe and Central Asia.
