As a very elderly Londoner I remember when there were no Muslims and we had no terror attacks. We went about our business without fear of having a van driven at us.
As for the IRA you should have seen the hatred by great swathes of the population of Belfast by both sides.

You misquote the politicians. What they say is 'don't blame those who did nothing, only the guilty ones.'
There's a big difference.
Do you think every American should be banned from travel or pay some other penalty just because Trump is an asshole, or do you think that's Trump's responsibility and his own debt to pay?

True in a sense, but not particularly helpful today.
We are fighting a combination of fundamentally very conservative religion, tainting conservative politics, with a large dose of irrationality tossed it, and assisted by our own stupidity, and fifty years of political and military incompetence upon our part thrown in.
It's a sure losing effort as we see every day.
