If you insist on a big, heavy rig, a bag with a shoulder strap, with a top & Front zipper opening. Myself, I carry a light Wt. " Point & Shoot," in my jacket pocket. ( or pants pocket ) BB

I never have found a comfortable way to carry a combination like that except in a backpack. A sling bag might be an option though - but for some people including me the one shoulder arrangement brings on back pain when the same weight over two shoulder feels just fine
I am hiking in ther Custer and Shashone National Forest. I use a cannon camera backpack. Love it. It's on sale at B&H.
