Sad. I saw the real Wall and the Traveling Wall. Very sad, both of them. A close friend's name is on them. Fortunately, my brother came home unharmed.

That is the Vietnam War Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. I also had friends and neighbors in that war. Thanks for looking Jerry.

Saw the traveling wall when it came to our area, lost a good friend and classmate in that war. We honor him and all the rest that have their lives for our freedoms.

I visited there last week, and for saying hello to my fallen comrades in arms. I always break down during that visit, and I am not ashamed. The feelings are as strong today, as they were in 1968.

About 7 years ago. I was at a seminar in DC. My husband flew down and we were going to spend a few days in Washington. I had always thought we should visit the Monument. My husband was not a fan of the idea. This Saturday he sort of agrees for a "look see" We got close and then he stops. I could see there were tears in his eyes. We just stood there. Then these two guys saw us came up from the Wall and the three of them out of the blue hugged each other, cried. Never said a word. After about 3 minutes They shook hands, nodded to each other and left. We went to a restaurant and had lunch and a few drinks. We did not talk about what happened. The next day we flew back to the city.

Thank you for that moving story. It brought tears to my eyes, as a visit to the Wall always does.
