I have a question, since Nikon does not support D90 any more. Last night I used my D90 with an AF Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8D lens. I had it on a tripod using the
"live view" to focus and shoot. I used the remote attached to the camera to fire. I got a "r 9 err". I turned the camera off, waited a minute or so, and turned it back on.
The flash popped up and the camera took a picture. I deleted that one and I was able to shoot 3 frames before it did it again. I reset the camera again and I was able
to get about 5 more frames before it did it again. Any suggestions?
make sure that you have the "F" Stop set to the biggest number, like F 22 or F 32...

Thanks. I did that after the first err message. The lock was off.

I think it has to do with the buffer. Format the memory card in the camera. Also take the battery out for 5 minutes or more, make sure its charged and reinsert it. Just a hunch but it could work.

If I remember correctly, it is not a error. It is telling you there are nine shots left in the buffer before it will fill. This can be seen with a partial push of the shutter button. Get it quite often on my D50 when my clumsy finger isn't in the right position to fully engage the shutter button.
