Had some down time today so I went to a ball game :-) I just don't understand why they wouldn't let the little kid in the first picture play....

Go to main page and select all sections..it will show up there. There is also a way to pin it to your followed sections but it's been awhile since I did that.

I like stopping the ball and bat. I'm not a big fan of the blurred look. Also do not like to completely oipen F stop as I want a little more depth. So I had ISO at 400 on all shots used a canon 70-200 2.8 series L and a canon 20D.

Pic 1 (over kill on shutter on this one) shutter 1/4000, f/4.0
Pic 2 same settings
Pic 3 shutter 1/4000, f/3.5
Pic 4 same as 3
Pic 5 shutter 1/2000 f/4.0

I try to keep shutter above 2500 for the action adjusting that first and f-stop second for the changing light conditions and ISO as the last resort.

Interesting. Do you watch your histogram?

A little but not much. Two fold reason.

1) From what I have read you really need a color histogram to set exposure properly, That being said I do randomly check to make sure highlights aren't clipped.

2) My short experience with the paper has taught me that in order to get a good image in news print the dang photo almost has to be blown out...which is something I don't understand, and makes me cringe everytime I look at the layout.
