Hi Sandra, While I am not a fan of the softness of the lens baby generally, this picture works well for me as an abstract study of colors. The colors work well together. If I was to change anything I might pull back the vibrance of the yellow just a touch, for my taste. I definitely like the angle and the crop.

I, too, have to admit not being a fan of the softness, since I'm always working hard to get crisp focus. But here it really works. I also admit to doing some pixel peeping, which I don't normally do. The sharp focus point is perfectly placed. I love the simplicity of the image and how the flower angles through the frame. The water droplets are a great finishing touch. Not too many; not too large. The background is nicely buttery and single-toned, so it doesn't distract one whit from the flower. All in all, I'd call this a successful shoot!

One place you probably can't go wrong with "softness" would have to be flowers. And in this image it works well particularly as the pink and yellow are soft(ish) colours. I like the angled crop too. And the droplets which, while minimal, do lift the image slightly. If I were going to be really picky I would have liked just a little more of the top of the flower as (to me) it seems just a little chopped. I don't mean the whole flower but just slightly raised so you get the suggestion of that lovely sculptured shape leading towards the tip. All up though, a lovely picture Sandra.
