The guy on the left was about to take her picture when she saw me and leaned into my shot.
FYC.
I want to meet her! She seems like someone with a great sense of humor and love of life.

Mr. Smith, an excellent capture processed superbly. I understand your leaving him in, but for me the guy on the left without your verbiage is not adding to the photo. I found focusing a bit more on her by making her more prominent in the frame makes a stronger image for me, crop in from left, down from top, and up from bottom leaving her in about the same thirds position you have her now. You did say FYC....
Very Weejee-like! I like it, don't touch it, all parts make the whole in that picture, explanation or no. imo

I'm not always a big fan of using a vignette. In this photo, however, it words perfectly. You caught that "essential moment" when the action of the subject and the expression are just perfect together.

I think she's placed about right Graham. It's a super example of candid, helped loads by a lively lady! As Linda says, someone worth meeting. Your pp is up to scratch as usual, so, leave as is and pop it in the 'candids' album!

Great super-expressive capture and PP to fit the image. I find myself wanting to see more in those dark areas though, to figure out what they're up to.
Always curious. And always struggling with the dark.

She has emerged from that mysterious dark place
EDIT: I meant to say that what you almost see in the background is Cambridge university students waiting to go into the Senate House to receive their degrees.
As is so often the case with Graham's photography, while the main subject draws our attention immediately, there is also a backstory to draw us further into this photo. It's obviously a university graduation, but what university? Although out of focus, we also want to take in every face. Even the faceless head on the right (with glasses) draws us to the main subject. Fantastic composition. An Art History lecturer would spend half an hour lecturing on a similar painting.
You've already told us that you don't wear a Snoopy costume, so how do you get that sort of reaction from your subjects? And how do you get away with doing things that would usually be described as over-editing?
Quite enjoyable and well done---probably a linkage there :-)
I wouldn't change a thing. I love it.Gilbert
For once I disagree with Frank, I feel the fellow in our way is part of the story - the lady obviously preferred your handsome features to his Graham. And may I say how nice it is to have a post from you, we miss you! Your usual exquisite processing works well, but you don’t need telling.
