Oh my...the quality your going to get with this camera will be stunning once you get it's abilities learned. This is a great set which shows you got some great potential. I wouldn't worry to much about the prop blur just yet, it takes time to remember all those details, so it's instinct to use high shutter speeds on fast moving objects. Most recommend shutter speeds around 1/100 sec or lower, but you MUST be good at panning or the plane will be blurred. But I wouldn't worry, what you have is just fine. Great job.

Very nice series of images Linda, and some new subject matter for you. I like all of these, but my fave is the third one. In that one I like the way the plane and especially the trail of dust contrasts with the darker hills in the background. Nice work on all of these with that new gear.

Thank you, Tom! "trail of dust..." nice way to say "polluting chemicals"

I stumbled onto this photo op on my way to take pictures of pelicans and Mt Adams; you just never know.

Very nice Linda especially the last 2,until one see's it in person you don't realize just how fast that plane is actually moving .
I was lucky to catch the one who sprays our crops once a few yrs ago and i had quite a few blurs before i finally got the timing right .
Awesome job congrats .
Pete

Thank you, Pete! And with a zoom lens, it seems like you're always in too far or out too far He changed positions part way through my time there, so I have him coming and going from all compass points.

Thanks so much for your feedback and information, James! A totally new subject for a totally new camera, I do like challenges And as dragon mentioned, that plane was moving very, very fast!

It's a long boring story, but besides the Panasonic with 14-140 mm, I now also have an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II M4/3 with Olympus M.Zuiko 75-300mm

This combo will be for more distant and moving subjects and the crop duster gave me quite the workout! These are definitely not as sharp as the non-moving dandelion close-up I used as test yesterday

Shutter priority at 1/1000 sec, auto-ISO, edits from raw.

Thanks for viewing!

Very good photos. DSLRs must not have focal plane shutters. Otherwise the prop blades would look bent.
