Long exposure by the stream

Last weekend I took a hike up to Enders Falls. I was curious to practice with my new 10 stop ND filter from Breakthrough Photography. Even though it was my first time using this, I was pretty happy with the results. The 1st and 3rd were both shot at 30 seconds. The 2nd shot was a 20 second exposure. C&C welcome.

Like the second shot the best! The first and third have so much smoothing of the water that it appears to be snow. Again, love that second shot.

Maybe a 10 second shot would give the water some definition.

I agree imageal. My only description was too many heated marshmallows.

Agreed. Put me down for #2 as well.

I like #2, also. I think an exposure of 8-10 seconds might have been a little better, though.

The 2nd is best. At 30 seconds, and on this type of water (particularly in no.1) there is an artificial look to the water. No.3 just about gets away with it. I think the longer exposure is best suited to larger expanses of water, but that's just my opinion.

I think you did well for your first time Cynthia, I like them all but I do think I'd prefer just a little shorter exposure.

Yeah...now I see a stream of marshmello fluff😞 I'll keep at it. I have seen 30 second exposures at the ocean with far more rocks or features that creates an ethereal effect. I guess you have to be at the right spot. Thank you all for your feedback! Always learning!

All are nice. The second picture does it for me.
