Need some help. I bought a Nikon D3300 body and then bought a AF-P 1.8-55 5.6G lens as is standard on the D3400 but it will not autofocus. Are they not compatible? Grateful if anyone knows.Thanks.
It should autofocus. Not as familiar with the 3300 but be sure you have AF turned on.
You may have to update the firmware go to NIKONUSA web site
What everyone else has said! I hope you can resolve the issue.
B & H site says that lens is compatible with D3300 but that a firmware upgrade may be required.
I can tell you from personal experience that the AF-P lenses are not compatible with my D7000 (it's not even possible to manual focus one on that camera!) but are compatible with my D7100, with no firmware upgrade needed.
