I have a Pro 100 (couldn't resist the $59 net cost on a rebate) and Pro 1000, and both produce outstanding images that closely track with my color managed workflow. I use the Pro 100 for proofing and smaller prints, and the Pro 1000 for final larger prints. Color fidelity has been spot on, and the prints are spectacular.

Would you say the image quality is the same for the two printers? Close? If I'm just a hobbyist with no interest in printing for customers, just myself, what is the advantage of the Pro-1000 over the Pro-100?

The image quality is so close, I'm not sure I can tell the difference comparing two prints side by side (which I've done). The major advantages of the Pro-1000 are the ability to print images up to 17x25, the greater longevity of pigment based inks, and the lower cost per ml of the larger ink tanks. If you will be printing images at 13x19 or smaller, the Pro-1000 is an excellent choice.

I didn't see it included anywhere but, as best I can tell, the Pro 1000 uses pigment inks whereas the Pro 100 uses dye inks. Most of what I've read suggests greater archival performance from pigment than from dye. I have a Pro 100 that I print personal stuff with (and I love it). If I sold prints I'd be printing pigment.

I have a Pro-100 and like it. Wireless is great. I gave away my Pro-9000 Mark II and bought the Pro-100. There wasn't anything wrong with the Pro-9000 except it wasn't wireless. Now I can put the printer in another room where it's not in my way. Love it. Prints are very nice.

I don't care about the wireless but this printer makes great prints. I was dissatisfied with the other major brand so I tried this. Search over, been using it for years. Harry

Color fidelity (and everything else) is great on my Pro-100. I'm 90 so I doubt that I'll ever buy another printer; just glad I stumbled onto this one. Hd it for years, never disappoints! Harry
