Took these a short while ago outside my flat- they would have been better had I been able to blur the background more - can't quite master that maybe other P900 useres could tell me how.

They are charming, especially with the house behind them. It gives a very cozy feeling. Thanks for sharing.

Good observation; and I have to agree. The background house absolutely makes this. My pick? #3

To address your question, according to the EXIF information your settings were "Auto exposure, Program AE, 1/125 sec, f/5, ISO 200". Instead of Auto, shoot in Aperature Priority with a larger lens opening (max for your lens is f/2.7). The camera will choose the appropriate shutter speed. The larger aperature will have a narrower depth of field (dof).

Thanks will try that - I did once before I think but without the desired effect - maybe I did something wrong

Using the widest available aperture will help put more of the background out-of-focus, but having more areas in focus is a known result of using a camera with a small sensor .... and the P900 has the smallest sensor still in use.

I love these! My preference is for no's 3 and 4--better closeups and more background bokeh.
