I usually like all your work Brent and I like the colours and sharpness of this image. However it has the look of an over done HDR in my opinion. I hope I haven't offended, that's not my intent, just being honest in my opinion.

I like the low perspective. It adds originality to the shot. As for the intensity, I like it but not from a realistic standpoint. I think it adds to the "lush" feeling. A slightly toned down sky might be better. Rain cleans the air and everything else so it can lead to some pretty intense colors.

infocus, no offense taken at all. I always appreciate honest opinions and can learn from what others have to say, so thank you for that. Your comments have a lot of validity. After I posted this image I noticed some things going on around the edges of the clouds that I found less than satisfactory also.

Thanks for your honest thoughts on this one Cwilson341, I appreciate it very much. I agree with you about the toned down sky idea. I hate it when it is obvious that an image is HDR. I like the viewer to ask himself or herself if it is or not!??!

The clouds give it away as an HDR. I would tweek it so the clouds look more normal.

Brent, I am going to have to agree that the image is a little overcooked. I do like the general idea for the image; however, the draw to it seems to be missing. I just tried making it into a portrait emphasizing the main cactus and the large cloud above and I think I like it better. Another possibility would be to have the cactus to the left or right of center.

Brent I think your sky, like others mentioned, is over cooked but the green is very good. Tone down the sky and clouds and keep the grass as is using two layers mix and you should have a winner.

By the way my new lens is outstanding just need to get out and shoot something interesting.

Thanks Jim for the suggestions. I'm taking everyone's comments in a positive way to improve, so I appreciate it.
The lens you are talking about, is that the Tamron 150-600mm? I'm glad you feel your lens is outstanding! It's always nice when you invest in big bucks for something and it pays off!
