Shooting the moon in daylight

Late yesterday the moon was visible but there was too little contrast between the blue sky and the moon to focus on it wth my Olympus 2100 UZ, using handheld as usual.
After supper, at about 6 PM I had much better luck and got very good pictures. I have no tripod here and use my right hand to operate the camera as usual. Photo attached.

You are getting better results than I am; am mostly getting white blobs with blown out highlights. I have used a Canon Rebel XT with Partial metering and tried all sorts of combinations to no avail. Best results I got were with a ZLR film camera made by Olympus and a Canon EOS 650. Perplexing. TMK

I had several tripods before I had a stroke and am living now in an assisted living home near Madison WI, now I rely on hand holding only. Your photo is very fine! Thank you, Harold

One never gets to know everything, at age 80 I learn something every day. Read and practice, you will keep learning. Good luck, Harold
