Here's a video I did a few years ago and put on youtube. It shows how you can create the illusion of multiple takes/cameras in a video editor. The video was taken ona a tripod, in a single wide angle take, in room light, on a Nikon D3100 with a wide angle lens. All the close ups and different camera views were all done done in the Adobe CS6 Premiere Pro editor.
The audio was recorded on a Zoom R16 8 track stand alone digital recorder, with the two guitars and the single mic plugged into separate tracks on the recorder. The audio was mixed down to a stereo track with the Adobe Audition audio editor, and the stereo mix track was synced with the camera audio track in the video editor time line. The camera audio track was then muted in the editor. I used about a 2 second film dissolve transition before and after all the closeups.
