...for something along the lines of Mad Max perhaps? This is a composite that I got stuck on. Going back to it I cropped-in and darkened, and feel it's OK given the limitations of the original shots - taken in rather poor late evening light. Great fun things though! What do you think of it?

It has uploaded very dark - please click download to see colour intended.

Interesting composit. I think you achieved the Mad Max look.
What was the base part of the picture and what did you add?

The entire image is parts Jim. The background is the local Heath, the cliffs are along the Jurassic Coast at West Bay, the sun is a NASA image, the triplane was at a WW1 display and the two motorobot thingys are separate images from an evening display in some seaside gardens. All here in the U.K.

Looks good in download. I feel it is one of those projects that keeps us interested in trying new things and keeping the creative juices flowing. I think it is a lot of fun and I would have been proud if I came up with the idea myself. Beyond that, I think it is technically quite good. Certainly beyond the scope of my talents.

It's a great concept but I think you're losing too much by having it as dark as it is, even on download.

Hi Erich. It's far from technically sound but it is fun I think. I'm marginally better at compositing now than when I did this, but to be honest I couldn't be bothered to start it all over again so I made do! Might use the foreground elements again some time when the mood takes me. Many thanks for the encouraging remarks, it all helps!

Can't disagree RG, it is a make-do image really. I think I messed with it too long in the first place. As it is, it would lighten to show detail of the undergear but the two subject images are of vastly different quality. The brontosaurus sort of thing was taken after dark, on the move and at a distance - and has turned-out very grainy and poorly focussed. The other Flintstone-type tractor thingy is much sharper, taken in daylight and close-up. Hence they are a mis-match that the darkness aids and abets in improving!
