I know that there has been some discussion on this topic before but here goes:

I have an RB 67 ProS system and a Mamiya 645 and I have just about decided to take them to KEH and take what I can get but with the current chatter about Ektachrome coming back I am now more confused than ever.

My intent would be to shot film and scan the transparencies.
I have had some good results scanning my older images -both transparencies and negatives.

I would appreciate any input to help me decide.

Thanks
Bill

I am not sure why Ektachrome would make any difference if it is reintroduced as to this question.
If you want to use slide film in those cameras just go buy some. Fujifilm makes Fujichrome and has continuously done so.
So if your true intent is to shoot slide film and scan it proceed immediately as there is absolutely nothing to hold you back from doing so.

Yup. It took me years to get rid of my B&W darkroom stuff...

Your equipment is not going to change much in value over the next year, wait until you can get the Ektachrome and try it out, then decide.

No one can make decisions for them self anymore. They write to UH, get half dozen answers, and gained nothing.

It's a discussion area. The results of which may yield an affirmation of a thought.

Much time and expense went into building and learning how to use your systems. Rediscovery of ones photo closet can be as much fun as waiting for the brown truck.

Agree. This one has affirmed my thought that few seem capable of thinking for themselves.

Maybe you should keep your favorite one and sell the other.

The selling price will probably continue to decline. so better to sell sooner than later.

In the first place, you should not expect a decent amount of money selling your medium format film cameras. The market for these cameras is at its lowest.
The question that you should be asking from yourself is do I use them enough to justify keeping them?
Your answer should define the future of those cameras.

(Or looking for ideas they may not have thought.)

The OP wants to shoot the cameras but does not do so because he seems to believe that there is no longer slide film. And if Ektachrome returns he will use the cameras again. If that is the case Fujifilm, as I stated, is being made and always has been in transparency and negative so contemplation of selling is a moot point if the OP is honestly wanting to use film.

hi Bill.
i use and rz67 and have used the m645 and both are great cameras and you should keep both and use them. there is nothing in digital which can compare to a 6x7 transparency or black and white. i used my 645 as a 35mm camera on trips.

My 2 cents The RB would be my choice Love that camera, great for studio work not to mention the revolving back.
