Thanks. I would lie to add a corollary to #21. In the car of landscapes being too close can be a handicap to good framing.

Excuse me oh protector of proper English, I believe you meant to say this. " Thanks. I would LIKE to add a corollary to #21. In the CASE of landscaping, being too close can be a handicap to CORRECT framing. " good framing = bad English.

I understand "..the family jewels..." but what does "...hacking of MWAC..."

Not so much a "Tip" as it is a pet peeve. When another photographer tells me I wasn't correct on my exposure, rule of thirds, lighting, etc. when they didn't know what look I was going for in the first place. I have even heard self proclaimed "Professionals" explain how various photos they were looking at were all wrong, only to let them know that they were taken by one of the all time great photographers, and still they go on about how the shot is fundamentally incorrect (it happens on this forum more times than not too). Yes, I know, if you're photographing for a client and they don't like it that's one thing. If you're shooting for your own pleasure, and another "Photographer" tells you it's wrong, it's OK to tell him/her they don't know what they're talking about.

You got my vote on that Mark. If I post a photo on here and ask can anyone make some suggestions on how to make it better, that's fine. But if I post something on here and I'm pleased with my work, be critical at your own peril.

That is one reason I never comment on her posts - if she scares her kids like that what would she do to me??
Kinda scarey

rule 50. When posting comments on the ugly hedgehog, what ever you do , refrain from hacking off MWAC, or you'll find the family jewels nailed to a barn door!

Now that makes perfect sense. Thanks! ...... Coot

Remember rules are made by people looking at wonderful photographs. Wonderful photographs are not made by people following rules.

That said, if your not happy with your own photos try following some of those rules and see if you like them better.[/quote]

I once started up an email friendship with a guy in the US. He has his own website and posts new pics regularly. I had the audacity to criticise one of his pics. He never emailed me or answered my emails to him again.
We should never be so precious as to think that we are above criticism. No one is perfect or takes perfect shots every time. BUT remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's why everyone thinks I am ugly LOL.
I like to think I take pretty good shots some times. But most are deleted very quickly!!!

Mwac is a very talented photographer on here. MWAC stands for mom with a camera. It is meant as an insult, kinda like soccer mom. She was told on another site that she would never amount as a photographer beyond being a MWAC.. What I admire most about her, besides her talent, is that she took an insult turned it into a battle cry, worked her *** off and has transformed into the fabulous photographer she is today. also admire how she sticks up for herself and kids, and won't take garbage from anyone. Several different people on the hog have tried to mess with her or insult her kids and ran right into a buzz saw. Think mama grizzly on PCP armed in one paw with an Uzi and in the other paw with a flamethrower. She is the kind that would make a terminator stop and say i think mom is calling me and run away. In other words not to be messed with.

Chimping is the act of looking at the LCD screen after shooting and going"oo oo oo" when you see what a great shot it is!

Tip #50: Sometimes it is good to stay in bed all day and not take a photo, especially after trying out all the aforementioned 49!

I asked the same question a couple of months ago. Chimping is looking at the LCD after each shot.

Thanks. I wanted to ask that too.
