"Your First Amendment rights can be terminated," yells the Chicago police officer, caught on video right before arresting two journalists outside a Chicago hospital. One, an NBC News photographer, was led away in handcuffs essentially for taking pictures in a public place. He was released only minutes later, but the damage was done. Chicago cops suffered an embarrassing "caught on tape" moment, and civil rights experts who say cops are unfairly cracking down on citizens with cameras had their iconic moment.

You wouldn't happen to be a fan of Mr. Dale Brown, writer extraordinaire, would you?

I hope no one ever tries to take Little Pink Camera away from me for taking a photo somewhere they think I shouldn't be. Little Pink Camera has too much of a mind of her own and might try to whap 'em upside of their haid!!

Love Dale Brown books. I read most of them while in Walter Reed hospital, recuperating from the parachute accident.

I clicked on the link which took me to a 30 second ad (with sound) and after that was over, a 38 second video clip with no sound. What did the cop say? Who knows?

The issue with me is the ad. 45% of the time was advertising. Even "thirty-seven minutes" the CBS news program on Sunday nights, is only 39% ads. I think internet video clips are becoming too expensive to watch.

Most all police cars have video cameras in them which records constantly. The info from it is in the trunk of the car and the policemen cannot gain access to it -- only the supervisor at the station can. In many cases, it has helped clear a policeman when he encounters a hostile driver, especially when the driver says one thing and the policeman says another. If a policeman resents a citizen taking pics of him with an unruly person, it might put him in a bad light if he uses too much force. This has happened all too often - especially when they are likely to sue the police dept for unwarranted treatment. That's the reason he doesnt want the public taking pics of them.

Glad to see the Chicago PD has improved their standards so much since the
'1968' Democratic National Convention in Chicago ... Not!

Cops have a sworn duty to enforce the law ............

Some cops don't think the Law applies to them, evidently.

Hey Doc ..... Fact, law enforcement has the right to arrest you at any time for failure to comply ..... is it worth it to be a wise ass and what would you do if you were the cop being antagonized ..... I of course Doc would give em a snac

In watching COPS many times over, that's the last job I would ever want. Not only do they have to deal with the 'low-life's' of society, but the hatred from those who
literally hate them - EXCEPT - when there comes a time to need their assistance! I don't know how much a cop makes, but the danger they face day to day, makes me appreciate them even more. I watched this woman cop (which I'm against women being on the force unless its desk duty cause they're not physically capable of handling men) but when she stopped this guy to arrest him, he backhanded her to the ground and literally beat her to death, breaking her jaw among other things thus knocking her out cold -- he was out on parole. A woman is no match for a man in these circumstances. They couldnt pay me enough to become one!
