Would someone please explain to me exactly what they are selling?

Dust-covered odds and ends. A stack of yard sales.

You really are in "the quiet corner"
From what i make of it its known as a estate sale, no heirs or stuff they want to get rid of for the money .
a fancy way of saying its a junk sale .
Doesn't matter since the auction was yesterday. If you really want to know call Kevin at 860-933-6055 and ask him what he sold.
Just a collection of house stuff accumulated over many years. Some gems, some dogs.
this sounds like an auction i would make a point of attending. i suspect there will be a number of unlisted items that might be very well worth picking up. in Connecticut (my home state) this is a standard type of auction listing. as an ex-long islander, and thus someone from, like, Mars, i can understand your confusion.
I would say read the very top of the notice. It says what they are auctioning.

Finally, an observant photographer's eye

I think you are the first one. Truth is I didn't see at first.

Why do you think that I posted an 'embarrassed' emoji? SECOND REPLY!
Admittedly, it's hard to tell what's going on, but this guy is right near me, and his auctions are great fun, especially if you don't really need anything.

As a recent escapee from NY, I am finding that those in New England sell peculiar things. This must have been a very hairy auction (sorry, just couldn't help myself) How are things going at the Ministry?
