Letter to the Denver Post:

The United States Senatorial v****g since 2012 has resulted in Republican Senators, who number 52 out of 100, receiving 54.8 million v**es. By contrast, Democratic Senators, the remaining 48 Senators, have received 78.4 million v**es, 23.5 million more v**es collectively than the Republican contingent, a 59-41 percent majority for Democrats, if it were a straight head-to-head e******n. The Senate, then, is ruled by only 41 percent of the American e*****rate in our Democracy. This anomaly of American democracy is a carryover compromise the Constitutional Convention had to make in order for the Southern S***e States to agree and to sign our Constitution out of concern that the lesser populated South would be outnumbered in any Congressional v**e to abolish s***ery. Similar to the E*******l College, wherein Clinton won the popular v**e by nearly 3 million v**es, this ancient compromise leaves the majority of Americans subject to Senatorial rule by a group distinctly in the minority of American citizens. The Democrats in the House of Representatives in 2012 won 1.17 million more v**es than Republicans, yet they only won 46.21 percent of the seats. In 2014, Republicans won 52 percent of v**es in House races, yet won 57 percent of the seats. In 2016, The Democrats won 48% of the total v**es for House candidates to the Republicans 49%, yet the Republicans won 55% of the seats. (Independent v**es bring the total to 100%.) The American e*****rate majority is severely under-represented in all three: the presidency, the senate and the house of representatives. America is a democracy wherein majority does NOT rule.

And Republicans have the unmitigated gall to claim a "mandate". Freaking pack of thieves, corporate and NRA pimps, and colossal liars.

Ken Hubert, I can hardly believe it! We agree on something! The U.S. is not a democracy but a Republic. I wonder how greymule would do on one of those entrance exams that imigrants take to gain citizenship?

Greymule - let's put it in terms you might understand better: The Superbowl is won by whoever gets the most touchdowns, right? But the loser is claiming they won because they ran more yards. Now, does that make any sense to you?

Maybe that's why the Pubs got the ball rolling in N.C. restrooms.

There are some very core reasons for e******ns reults. Until the Democrats thoroughly understand those reasons and deal with them in a way that 'ordinary guy & gal' understands they stand to benefit. Until then the Republicans stand in direct enrighment of the Aristocratic 1% will continue unabated. Right now the Republicans are working to t***sfer your Social Security and Medicare deducted monies to the 1%. Everyone loses including the liberal h**ers here.

I would love to see some of your underlying research on this, and no left wing opinion articles don't count.
