He did not bail out the auto industry, he bought it (excepting Ford). And then like a true socialist, he threw the bond holders and debt holders under the bus.

A very immature understanding of exactly what happened. Economic experts would have something very different to say. FlyingTiger is very much out of his pay grade.

Flying tiger is flat out wrong. The title of the thread is a set up. Obama did not save the economy with the bank bailout, Bush did as the bailout was signed in October BEFORE the e******n of Obama. Obama did NOT bailout the auto industry Bush did s the auto bailout was signed before Obama took office. Obam (under the bailout agreement did, however , give GM to the union.) a violation of any number of investment guarantees. Obama could never have made the arguement that GM is alive were in not for Bush signing the bailout before Obama was elected

So, does that mean that Bush gets the blame for creating the environment that he had to bail these guys out of?

Actually he is responsible only for small part of it, in that he did not reign in Fanny and Freddy when they forced the banking industry to write worthless subprime mortgages. And he should have let Gm and Chrysler go bankrupt and file chapter 11. I do not believe in "To big to fail" The banking disaster belong to Barney Franke and Chriss Dodd. Bush"s part is that he fell for the to big to fail nonesense.
