Christmas Gifts.

If any one is interested, back in November I think I was asking about ideas for Christmas gifts using photographs. Calendars were the obvious suggestion, I did make a double sided calendar page with ocean scenes on both sides and photographs. I then laminated it and it was very well received. But I made candles. I bought the candles, big jars, white ones and peeled off the labels. I ordered clear adhesive to print on. I put photographs on them with messages and personalized them. On the tops I put a circle of Christmas fabric bells inside the top, then tied decorative ribbon around the top. They looked very pretty and everyone loved them. It was not that much work, time consuming but could be done a little at a time. So that was my Christmas gift project using my pictures.

I'd love to see a few pics of these, especially the candle. Thanks for the ideas.

Wow!! Sounds like terrific ideas - the kind that people will hold on to for a good while.
(I'll be watching today for USPS or UPS to come by with mine. It must be running late.)
All the best to you and yours . . .

We were a family of three children, all now married and one grand child. One in NYC, Montreal, and Maui. We travel to them and sometimes meet up in Cap Cod for a week or Vermont near Hinesburg. I make a picture book each year of our kids and some of my favorite shots. We give them as presents to the kids at Christmas, they love them. Did not make one in 2015 and got many complaints, so I made a 2015-2016 book. It was another hit. We use Shutterfly and I have been very pleased with the ease of navigating the site. Our shots stay on the site, so when they offer a free mug, calendar, or frig magnet I can just copy and paste my photo's into new products.

No problem as the decorations, fabric, ribbon etc. have to be taken off with the glass lid to light the candle. You are then left with a regular jar candle. The clear film with the pictures and message is on the outside of the jar like any label would already be. I have tested one with the clear film on the outside, there is no problem, in fact the pictures glow through. There is no way the candle can be lit with the decorations in place.

Check out this place; they put photos on mugs, carpets, throw pillows and more.
