I just joined, and am a very amateur photographer. I love taking pictures with my P&S, a Finepix F79 EXR. I am very satisfied with the quality of the pictures for a P&S, but have noticed that many of you like the Panasonic. I will be interested in following these threads.

Hello Judy and welcome to the UHH.
Welcome to the forum, Judy. My opinion is that if you're satisfied with your camera, then it really doesn't matter what other people think. You should upgrade your equipment when and if you get to the point that your present equipment can't support something you're interested in pursuing.
(just say "no" to peer pressure) :) :) :)

Welcome Judy! Lots of people here use P&S cameras and produce some remarkable photos. :-).
And if you haven't already done so, look up the Meetup groups in your area. We have a lot of fun just going out & learning from each other. Just pick your location & ask for photography groups. I have met some really good people in them
welcome you can get a lot of good info here
Hi Cosmo,
Meetup groups sound like fun. How do I find out how to sign up or look up where the groups in my area meet? Thanks for the suggestion!
Also from the Philly area, and a new user. I shoot with an old Kodak Easy Share point and shoot ( that I still love) and my new Canon Rebel T2i.
Welcome, Judy, I have the Panasonic Lumix and it works great for me, use what you love and show us your passion!
