Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, located 40 miles southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a Bureau of Land Management managed site that was established as a U.S. National Monument. Kasha-Katuwe means "white cliffs" in the Pueblo language Keresan.
Here's just a few photos of the nearly 100 that I took just along the Slot Canyon Trail, except for the one titled. There are three hikes; Slot Canyon, Cave Loop and Veteran's Memorial Loop (further down the road, high up on a mountain. Peaceful!).
This is a MUST SEE place if you're in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area.
Very nice set, especially on the downloads, and I gotta agree that looks like a must see.
I was out there a few moons ago and completely missed this area. kick, kick. Great set. djt
Looks fascinating. I love those pointy rocks - or whatever they are. You have so many natural wonders in America.
I was in NM in September and decided to take a quick drive from Albuquerque to this park on a Sunday. Took the hike thru Slot Canyon to the end of trail, totally breath taking and your pictures caught it just right. A bonus was the park was free on Sunday.
Nice photos! The next time I'm out West, I need to look these formations up.

Very interesting and well photographed....Rich
Outstanding photos. All interesting but photo #4 stands out since it is a prime example of close focus at infinity.
Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. Much appreciated. SteveLew; That was my objective. Glad it worked!

Very interesting group of photos of these unusual formations. I have been to NM several times but was not aware of this national monument. Will have to add it to my "must see" list.

You won't be disappointed tbell7D! Make sure ya do all three trails. Well, at the least the Slot Canyon and the Veteran's Memorial ones. For us, the Cave Loop was a bit lackluster.
