I know very little about post processing so I may not be understanding all of this correctly but I have an old version of Elements, 6.0, which does allow me to save a file as a TIFF. I don't think I've ever processed any RAW files with it though. Am I totally misunderstanding? I'm wanting to do more with my photos but I think I'll keep playing with this old version for awhile until I feel like it's not doing what I need.

Please understand that images can be saved as 8-TIFF OR 16-TIFF. I prefer the 16-bit.

I also have copies of several other editing SW packages, Paintshop Pro, and ON1 RAW for example, but I always come back to Photoshop/Lightroom. And the plug-ins are important.

Thanks for the clarification Jim. I'm just starting to get interested in doing more post processing. Have a lot to learn!!

I like Lightroom and Elements. They work great together, esp with NIK.
