From an earlier 'Christmas - Sorted!' post, Linda has suggested I post the unedited version of this picture so that others may have a go at it - anyone is welcome to edit but please show us your results!

I didn't like the magenta and changed the colours quite significantly, using both Ps and topaz - and possibly finished-off in Lr, as is my way.

It looks like a halloween picture to me. I like the coloring on the tree.

Would you like to have a bash at bringing it out a bit more Jim, there's loads in there somewhere!

Glad to see you toned-down that magenta amersfoort - but it needs straightening, I forgot to do it! Thanks for having a go at it, It's a good effort.

Well, my first attempt was a bit humbling - lol.

My interim piece just so you know I'm working on it! Thanks so much, Dave. And was the color really that way? If so, is there a significance to the purple (royalty etc)?

Like it in b&w Linda, why didn't I do that?
Colours are as taken, no royalty involved, just the lighting man's bad idea! Now you see why I went the way I did.

Bad idea, indeed Your edit in the other thread, which you should post here too for comparison, seems to be ideal for balance of colors in the tree. Here is a canvas texture + several other edits. By opening in my stripped down version of ACR in PS Elements and clicking auto wb, I was able to have a better starting point, but I'm not particularly happy with how the light on tree trunk looks. That's why I'm betting your warm tones will end up being best!

Thanks again for the chance to play.

just because you said we could...

I wasn't a big fan of the purple and green lighting either. looks more appropriate at Mardi Gras

Ah, paint brushes out and a heavy crop, suits the scene well Min, also like the lighting in this version. Thanks for showing what can be done.
