over priced but cute as could be, the Nikon Df. There is a B&W only Leica that costs an arm and a leg.

Sony a6000 is your best bet. It will be all you want it to be for as long as you want and not break the bank. You could look into older cameras that have only still capability but they really aren't going to be as cheap or as useful in the long run.

Yeah, there isn't a "Pentax K1000" of the digital age.

All but a few digital cameras have video. Most have lengthy manuals. Most CAN be used totally manually, but nearly all come with lots of automation features.

awana,

Most who have responded to you didn't understand what you have asked. I still suggest the Canon XSI or other basic
DSLR cameras, that are available used, and in like new condition. Again, contact KEH, they have several basic used cameras and they are all rated;
LN,,EX VG, BGN Etc.Most are guaranteed. I have for several years bought from KEH never had a problem, and they have a very liberal return policy.

I agree, the Sony a6000 is a great camera but has more features then what i think Awana is looking for.

The Canon XSI comes as close to the K1000 as you can get.

Simply apply super glue to all the buttons and switches that you don't need.

When they make it you wouldn't buy it. You will say it's overpriced. Don't expect such a thing is cheap.

For the most part, what you requested does not exist . You are assuming that less features equate to less money, not so. A $100.00 camera will do video, and have a lot of auto features.

Or a Fuji XT-1. Full control without ever looking at a menu. All controls are dialable on the body. You just look at it and you know everything you need to about focusing and exposure.

Just look at a Canon T6/T5 or a Nikon D3300/D3400. Video seems to be standard nowadays so finding one without would take some big looking and might be chasing the holy grail unless you want to spring for a Nikon DF at $2000.00. Image manipulation can be found everywhere in every camera whether it be through picture styles or conversion into jpg so that isn't possible. If you shoot manual and in RAW you will have the control on the enhancements.

Ikon D3000 still more basic and probably the least expensive DLR used

My dream camera! Nikon FM with a digital sensor! It would need an ISO dial, but that's all!

Most everything has what you don't want. Find one with Manual mode, use only that mode and ignore everything else. All the gimmicks have their usefulness though, to some more than others. I think most were added to the new digital technology before computer post processing (PP) became popular. If you shoot JPEG, the camera menu settings will govern what the picture looks like so you would have to render them as neutral as possible and let shutter, aperture, white balance, and ISO dictate. If you get a camera that can also shoot in RAW, then that is about as neutral a rendering as you can get with no special effects from menu choices. But then you have to use PP to develope the image after its taken. Good luck.

Just buy a good DSLR like a Canon XTi - set it on M and use the screen for easy vision and adjustment of settings and review and the view finder for composition - forget the rest of the bells and whistles as you will camera you want -
IMHO
