I am doing a photoshoot of a friends dog in an hour or so, it will be inside with windows that I hope will be enough light, but my Nikon D40 that I love (was a gift I know I can look up the manual) but how do I stop the flash from firing is there a mode that will work inside that will not pop up the flash.
Sorry short notice for me too!
Google got me
THIS:
"Press the "Flash" button, which is located near the dial at the top of the body
(above your lens release button) of your Nikon D-40 and features a symbol that looks like a lightning bolt. Pushing this button
(and rotating one of the dials?) will rotate through the various flash options, allowing you to control how much flash is used while you are shooting a photo or, in this case, to turn the flash off completely. Press the "Flash" button until the symbol in the lower left corner of the screen on top of the camera is an encircled "Flash" lightning bolt with a line through it. This indicates that the flash has been turned off. Gently press the pop-up flash at the top of the Nikon-D40 down with your finger until you hear a click. This indicates that the flash has been locked down"
Hope it helps- good luck with the shoot!
Thanks so much. I could not get the flash to click. On rotating the dial I noticed the flash was off on Sport mode that may work for an active Beagle puppy!!
