I have some older equipment that is in VG condition and am seeking advice as to where might be the best place to present it for sale. I have a Liaca IIIf with the Summacron collapsible 50mm f2 lens along with a 35mm and a 135mm lens plus other accessories. I also have a Tessina wrist camera that shoots in split frame 35mm.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you sell to a retail store dealer, you will get low, low wholesale prices... They in turn will sell it a a whopping eggagerated retail price...

The best place ( in the past 20 years or so) I have found to BUY and SELL is Ebay... The prices of items there that sells, are true market values... I would go on ebay and see what your items are selling for and go from there...

Just this morning I sold on ebay a 300mm zoom and was very pleased with what I got for it...

I have bought and sold on ebay for years, and I never had a problem. When I want to sell something, I put it on ebay, and it's gone in a week.

I would recommend starting the auction on Sunday and ending it on Sunday night at 7:10 PM Pacific time. That is a seven-day stretch, and it ends at a time when people are home and still awake. I say 7:10 because 7:00 is a common ending time, and if someone is bidding on several items, this gives him a chance to get to the 7:10 item.

I always have a starting price of $0.99. If you have a higher price, it costs more to list the item. Rather than have a reserve, some people start the auction at their reserve, like $200. Many of those items receive no bids at all. I used to have a reserve price on my items, but I don't do that anymore. For one thing, it costs more to post the item. For another, if the reserve is too high, it can put off buyers because they keep seeing "Reserve Not Met" on your item. Unless I definitely have to get a certain amount, I just let it ride, and I have never been burned by that technique.

Before I sell anything, I do a search for it on ebay. I have a book of Thomas Edison theater posters I was going to sell. I looked it up on ebay, only to find that a dozen other people were offering the same book, but no one was bidding. Doing a search can give you an idea what the item might sell for. It can also show you the variation in selling prices for the same item. It all depends who is bidding at the time.

As heyjoe said, take lots of pictures and describe and photograph any defects or scratches.

Be aware that you will pay a commission to ebay in addition to the listing cost and also to PayPal. They even charge a commission on the shipping cost you receive from the buyer.
