Shot this morning at 8 AM off the bank of the Chattahoochee river near Atlanta. ISO 400, 500 sec, f/7.8. Bracketing 0, +.3, -.3 (the minimal on my camera), onto Photomatix and Topaz Adjust.
Next, same stat as above, but the image processed through into HDR NIK Efex Pro 2 with very little adjustment.

Nicely done. I have Photomatix Pro and am just beginning to learn to use it.

I've had it for a little over three years and I'm still learning.

Nice B&A set, #2 is best even if a little over cooked.

it's the difference between taking a snapshot and creating a photo.

Rudolf,

You have discovered the essence of the light touch in adjusting for HDR photo products. When you try different scenes you will discover the ability to take your camera sensor up to it limits of exposure range, then back down 1/3 stop to increase the full exposure range of the scene.
It is a balancing act between the camera sensor and your HDR processing software.

Keep working on your photos and HDR.

The NIK looks more natural to me. But in this day and age over saturation seems to sell better. Nice job on both images.

The Photomatix shot rocks, because the EV range of the original is way beyond the range of ANY camera to produce a viable image. This is exactly what HDR is for.

I like the NIK better. For me, Photomatix is too much. Of course you can dial it back manually and it's fine. I just don't like the presets.
