Waterfalls in North Carolina

The western part of North Carolina has the greatest concentration of waterfall found anywhere in the US, hundred of them. Here are two of them located near Saluda, NC.

The first one is Little Bradley Falls, about 6 miles east of Saluda. It was a brutal 2.5 mile hike for two 83 year olds carrying a tripod and camera gear but well worth the effort. It was mid day when we got there and Little Bradley faces west so we were looking into the sun. I used an ND filter in order to get more detail in the foreground and get some silky water. Some post processing but not much.

Pearson Falls is just a few miles from Tryon, NC and a very pleasant half mile hike. It has been really dry so there was not a lot of water.

I'm impressed with the walk you did and the shot is fantastic, I think it was worth the hike, but I didn't do it so I'll never know. Your shots are really outstanding, you have the waterfalls down to an art. Thank you for posting and keep them coming.

Thank you Clipia. Great images. As a former Tar heal (Raleigh) and at 81 you inspire me to do even more.

Appreciate your hike. At 73 sometimes I find them to be strenuous. But mission accomplished and beautiful photos and memories are captured. Sandy
