This year I noticed a couple of articles regarding: "what color do you see?" In the beginning it was a dress, then a shirt, and now this bag. And they all went viral cause everybody was wrong. Like people are seeing wrong colors. And it gets a very big hype: people seems to see wrong colors. People are confused and they thing they need to calibrate their screens, eye check and so on.
in my opinion, a clear example of a bad taken photo. We all can see a little different color tones, but this is not that example. Here, the photographer is failing big time to see the difference from the real item and the photo they've taken. But nobody is saying anything. They even blame themselves for not seeing that blue color.

But they are not. I could not find the side by side in the twitt...but that does not mean much.

strange, I cant find the same page where I took the pictures from, but I do have the picture from the post where they are side by side. Keep in mind, The white version is the one she owns, the blue one if from the dealers advertise. I've posted the side by side picture since I've downloaded that one as well. The blue one may look different , but it's straight out of the box I would say, and folded like new. Maybe that's why you get the impression they are not the same.
Last try: the straps on the "blue" one are wider, extend less distance down the sides and are cut on a bias.

Yep, the straps are different.

Check the angle at which the straps are attached; also compare strap width. I'm not sure of the logo placement either, but that could be an optical illusion caused by camera position.
it seems the I followed several Twitter links , and I just posted the original thread. I don't own a Twitter account so and can't find the debate started from the tweet where I took all the screenshot.
I did find this article thou which goes through the same questions.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/06/what-colour-is-this-handbag-this-photo-is-dividing-the-internet/Now I am confused too. To me the bag is the same, and it may look a bit different just because it's straight out of the box. The straps seems to have a little room to move, and can change angle, the edges are folded, and pressed and no air inside it may give an optical illusion, I don't know. But I have no doubt the sources are describing the same bag and two different photos of it. Hers and the Original.
Here is the first one that appeared , the dress.
Here is the link with the explication , but the same thing was done here as. One poste a picture of the dress which is totally off the original color. Everybody was blown away when the answer it was Dark blue with black.
This one seems to be from 2015 not this year. Times flies too fast for me I see.
https://www.wired.com/2015/02/science-one-agrees-color-dress/It seem like White Balance is more the reason to this case which I've discussed a little in my thread here last week. Clearly a good example how white balance totally changes the colors and derive from reality.
It is important to remember that the quality (Kelvin Degree) of the light source has a great effect on the way the material looks. The material it's self, presents differently depending on the quality , type and surface of the material.
